University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK.
12-13 September 2019.
Registration is now open for a two-day conference dedicated to the work of the American pragmatist philosopher Richard Rorty, to be held in Cambridge in September: http://www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/events/28488 The conference marks the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of Contingency, Irony and Solidarity, a volume which developed from the Clark Lectures Rorty delivered at Cambridge. Focusing on CIS and Rorty’s later work, this conference is motivated by a desire to draw attention to the affirmative and constructive side of Rorty; to how we can employ insights from his work in contemporary cultural and political debates.
